One New Pump House Built in North Jakarta

To minimize the impact of rainy season, one new pump house is provided at Pasar Ikan water gate, Penjaringan, North Jakarta. The additional water gate is expected to minimize the flood on the surrounding areas.

The pump house is under Jakarta Provincial Government's management since December 25

The new static pump house is empowered with 6 pumps. Each pump has ability to suck 5 cubic/s. By this additional pump house, total pump houses in North Jakarta are 36 with 98 pumps.

North Jakarta Head Section of Facilities Maintenance of Water Resource for Sub-dept. of Public Works for Water Management, Kuryatna Atmadja, said this additional pump house was handed out by Public Works Minister to Jakarta Government.

" The pump house is under Jakarta Provincial Government's management since December 25 ," he said, Sunday (12/28).

As for the pump operational, it will be given to North Jakarta Sub-dept. of Public Works for Water Management.

Meanwhile, Jakarta Vice Governor, Djarot Syaiful Hidajat, admitted the city administration is ready to face the peak of rainy season in January-February.

"I hope no more people littering on the river. It will disturb the pump surely," he said.
